Pictures from the 2006 Daryls

The 3rd Annual Team Fremont Daryl Awards have come and gone and man was it a good time. The ceremony, gaming, food, museum, and the kick ass after party were all stuff of legend. We had contests, rare imports, classic favorites, and new hit titles all for people to sample. If you weren’t able to make it to the event, we took plenty of pictures. And if you’re looking for more than what we’ve got here, be sure to check here and here.

Here’s a shot of the awards presentation, featuring the top ten games of the year and a variety of special videos we made specifically for the event. To see the complete list of winners, click here.

But while the event was named for the awards ceremony, the night was all about gaming. Below are a few shots of people enjoying themselves throughout the evening.

The contests were also a big part of the evening. Here we see folks enjoying a round of Mario Kart DS. Dan Loosen won the competition, taking home a copy of Metroid Prime Pinball.

Wii Sports Bowling was up next, with Trickman Terry winning the contest. Here we see the strikingly handsome Danger Boy rolling with more style than The Dude, Donny, and Walter put together.

And who could forget the Guitar Hero 2 contest? Unfortunately, nobody was able to beat Moe and his lowest margin of victory was a whopping 47%. Get practicing for next year, folks! Below are shots of Moe slaying Cap’n Rawkenschpiel and Sabergirl.

The "Museum Table" had a ton of great rare items and video game memorabilia, most of which was provided by Trickman Terry. Note the sweet Bonk pins!

Here’s a shot of Torgo, 9-Volt, and Savory playing some Neo Geo and Jaguar.

All three of us a suckers for the shoot-em-up. Here’s Moe enjoying a game from Savory Cade’s unbelievable shmup collection.

Nothing kicks more ass than monkeys and maracas. Check out Cap’n and GoatStore.com’s Dan Loosen shake their money makers to Samba de Amigo.

Because we’re capitalistic whores, we decided to sell some shirts and CDs at the show. If you’d like to buy a Team Fremont shirt, let us know.

There was an unbelievable selection of food at The Daryls. Thanks to Torgo, Sabergirl, Mrs. Cade, Danger Boy, and everyone else who provided the great spread.

The grand prize of the evening went to Gruel, who won a TurboGrafx-16.

And finally, here’s a shot of most of the people who attended. We hope to see you in this photo next year.

But wait! That’s not all!

John managed to snag a couple shots at the hotel party after the show. First up is Cap’n enjoying some delicious whiskey from his flask.

And last is a happy shot of The Private, Hilden, and Cap’n, all three well on their way to oblivion.

Thanks to all who attended! Stay tuned for video and audio from the show.
