Midwest Gaming Classic 2006
The Midwest Gaming Classic just wrapped up. While we’re lying around, trying to recover, we thought you might enjoy some images from the show. Amazingly, we have more photos to post, thanks to our awesome listeners (and new friends). But in the meantime, check out this first batch of pictures John snapped from the show.
The Team Fremont Booth

The Team Fremont booth was the first things show attendees saw as they entered the main hall. We had displays set up so gamers could try out the Turbografx-16, Messiah’s Generation NEX NES clone, and an Atari 2600. The person who had the highest score on Asteroids at the end of the weekend took home an Atari Flashback unit. (More on that later).

Here we see a child enthralled by John’s favorite game of all time, Bonk’s Adventure. We pride ourselves on being a public service.

This is a guy we came to refer to as "Sheldon". Sheldon won our Asteroids competition. Sheldon thinks Asteroids is "too easy". Sheldon didn’t like our Atari joystick. Sheldon won the Nintendo Power Tournament in 1991 (just ask him about it). See how many times you can spot Sheldon and win the chance to punch yourself in the face.
The Arcade and Pinball Display
The selection of arcade games and pinball machines on display was incredible. All the machines were set to "free play" and most of them were for sale.

John’s favorite pinball game at the show. Dr. Who says, "Say no to drugs!"
The Vendors
Our wallets are still hurting from the beating they took over the weekend thanks to MGC’s incredible variety of vendors. Everything from classic consoles to collectibles to current generation games to pinball parts to game room accessories… (Whew!) You get the point.

The folks from Messiah were onhand with their Generation NEX console. Check out our MGC episode of Team Fremont Live (coming soon) for an interview with Messiah President Brad Strahle.

The Museum and Displays
The folks at MGC put out a fantastic museum for folks to interact with. Many of the displays were provided by John from Die Hard Gamer. John also helped arrange and film our game show/trivia contest on Saturday evening. Stay tuned for the video.

Ah yes, Rez. One of the greatest games of all time. This is where Cap’n Rawkenschpiel was de-virgin-ized.

These folks crammed a powerful PC into an NES case. The machine was later auctioned off at the Team Fremont booth.

Oh Sega, you silly mofos…

More Atari Lynx games than we’ve ever seen in one place. (Now if only we could find a good one…)
Etc.

Two little girls playing pinball. The one on the right kicked Moe’s ass in the Pinball Tournament. It was a great weekend, indeed.

Here’s Sheldon again. He was at our booth so much we decided to interview him on the show. The recording will sit in the "unheard" file, right next to Moe’s Manifesto.
Stay tuned for even more pictures from the Midwest Gaming Classic!
